A technology firm in High Wycombe is looking for an experienced Electronics Test Engineer to join their engineering team. You will be responsible for testing and troubleshooting electronic sub-assemblies, closely working with design engineers to validate performance and resolve issues in both digital and RF circuits. Ideal candidates should have a minimum of 3 years' experience in the field and a strong understanding of electronics principles.

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Electronics Test Engineer to join our clients engineering team in High Wycombe. You will play a key role in testing, assessing, and troubleshooting electronic sub‑assemblies as part of a new product development (NPD) program. The role involves close collaboration with design engineers to validate performance and resolve issues across digital and RF electronics systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Test and evaluate electronic sub‑assemblies for performance, functionality, and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues in both digital and RF circuits, working collaboratively with the engineering team to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Support the development and execution of test procedures for new hardware designs.
  • Document test results, issues, and corrective actions in accordance with company standards.
  • Provide technical feedback to support design improvements during the development lifecycle.
  • Ensure all testing activities comply with relevant quality, safety, and security standards.
Essential Requirements
  • British National - (due to security and export control requirements).
  • Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience testing and troubleshooting electronic hardware.
  • Strong understanding of digital and RF electronics principles.
  • Proficient in the use of standard lab and test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, multimeter, etc.).
  • Practical experience diagnosing faults at component and sub‑assembly level.
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills, with a collaborative working style.
Desirable Experience
  • Background in complex defence electronic systems.
  • Experience using and interpreting data from a Vector Network Analyzer (VNA).
  • Familiarity with new product introduction (NPI) or prototype testing environments.
