Electronics Technician

£30,000 to £35,000 per annum plus bonus, 33 days holiday, on site parking, subsidised canteen, gym, pension, employee welfare scheme - Based nr Newport, South Wales - Days role working Mon to Fri, Permanent position

Our client are a world renowned and leading manufacturer within their field - due to ongoing growth and expansion they are recruiting Electronic Technicians / Assemblers to join their team. Working in a state of the art facility and working as part of a team, this is a rare and exciting opportunity to join them, where you will be working on a new product range.

The role of the Electronic Technician / Assembler will be to build, assemble and test complex processing equipment, which will involve working in a clean room environment where you will be carrying out the work out using microscopes. The work requires excellent attention to detail, strong dexterity and intricate work using various instruments and tools.

Duties will involve:
  • Operating tooling and hand held electronic equipment to test cable assembly or other electronic parts
  • Manual soldering components onto printed circuit boards (using a microscope)
  • Visual inspection of products
  • Problem solving to find root cause analysis and make corrective action plans
  • Working with engineering teams to resolve issues
  • Handling or attaching small components using tweezers and in house build fixtures
  • Performing visual inspection on incoming and outgoing parts
  • Carrying out functional tests on products
Skills and experience required:
  • HNC / HND qualified in Electrical, Electronic Engineering (or similar subjects) or other relevant qualification
  • Experience in electronic assembly, PCB assembly and soldering
  • Possesses excellent analytical and fault-finding skills
  • Able to utilise electrical and mechanical schematics to rectify faults and defects
  • Able to operate fixturing / tooling or hand held electronic equipment
  • Strong communication skills and able to communicate with internal and external colleagues
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing and / or shop floor environmentKnowledge of handling wafers or substrates
  • Good knowledge of MS Office

The successful candidate will have experience working in a similar role and environment - knowledge of clean room protocols would be ideal, but not essential.
