Electronics Engineer - Birmingham - £45,000+
An opportunity has arisen with a growing engineering manufacturer supplying precision‑engineered systems into high‑spec, safety‑critical sectors. You’ll take ownership of electronic design and manufacturing processes, driving continuous improvement and supporting long‑term operational excellence.

Salary: £45,000+

Note: Also open to junior engineers and recent postgraduates - a development role is available for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Developing and optimising manufacturing processes from concept to production.
• Assessing production processes, collecting data, and identifying opportunities for efficiency gains.
• Designing, testing, and upgrading mechanical and automated systems, including batch operations.
• Leading the introduction and commissioning of new equipment on site.
• Creating clear documentation, SOPs, and process control plans.
• Implementing and maintaining 5S and other lean methodologies across production areas.
• Collaborating with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to resolve process issues.
• Supporting NPI and design activities with process data and operational feedback.

Desirable skills and experience

• Experience in a similar role: Electronics Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Continuous Improvement Engineer, or Production Engineer.
• Proven background in process optimisation, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, ERP/MRP systems, and data‑driven analysis.
• Exposure to PCB, electronics, chemical handling, or automotive manufacturing.
