ALTEN is seeking an Electronics Engineer to join a growing engineering team working on advanced electronic systems, including PCB design, testing and integration. The role suits engineers with hands-on hardware development experience in safety-critical aerospace/defence or unmanned systems.

You will contribute across the product development lifecycle, from concept through testing, with opportunities for ongoing learning and career development within a global engineering group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or equivalent military experience.

Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking an Electronics Engineer to join a growing engineering team supporting the development of advanced electronic systems. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with PCB design experience who enjoys a hands‑on role encompassing both design and test activities.

Working within a multidisciplinary environment, you will be involved throughout the product development lifecycle, contributing to electronic hardware design, PCB development, testing, validation and integration activities. This role would particularly suit engineers with experience developing electronics for safety‑critical, aerospace, defence or unmanned systems applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and verify electronic hardware solutions.
• Create and modify PCB layouts and schematics.
• Perform hardware testing, debugging and validation activities.
• Support electronic system integration and troubleshooting.
• Work with a range of electronic components and embedded hardware platforms.
• Produce technical documentation and test reports.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to deliver project objectives.
• Support continuous improvement of design and test processes.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• Experience in electronic hardware design.
• Strong PCB design and development experience.
• Hands‑on experience with electronic testing and fault finding.
• Understanding of electronic components and circuit design principles.
• Ability to support the full hardware development lifecycle from concept through to testing.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.

Required Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s orequivalentmilitary experience.
• Experience within the aerospace sector.
