Job summary

A leading aviation recruitment firm is seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer for a 12-month contract in Bolton. You will support calibration and maintenance of complex missile systems. Ideal candidates will possess a HNC/HND in Electrical & Electronics Engineering and experience in test equipment calibration. Effective communication skills and the ability to mentor junior staff are essential. Security clearance is required for this role.

Qualifications

  • Experience in calibration of test equipment and maintenance of test systems.
  • Ability to provide technical advice using instructions and specifications.
  • Understanding of calibration principles and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Calibration & Maintenance Engineers on missile systems.
  • Calibrate and support factory test equipment.
  • Mentor junior staff as required.

Job description
Role

Electronics Engineer on an initial 12-month basis. You will be working within an experienced team of Calibration & Maintenance Engineers supporting complex test platforms in the manufacture and test of complex missile systems. You will be trained to calibrate and support special to type factory test equipment using a range of technologies, DC to Microwave.

  • Pay: £40 via Umbrella
  • Location: Bolton
  • Contract: 12 months (possible extension)
  • IR35 Status: Inside
  • Security Clearance: SC Clearance needed to start, UK Eyes only
Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum qualification: HNC/HND in Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
  • Experience and knowledge in the calibration of test equipment and maintenance of test systems to component level.
  • Able to utilise instructions, handbooks, drawings or specifications to provide technical advice/guidance. Able to use this information to conduct appropriate measurements and repairs down to component level.
  • Good understanding of calibration principles and processes.
  • Able to mentor other or more junior staff when requested by line manager.
  • Able to deal with multiple issues, tasks and priorities concurrently.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to tailor communication to the relevant audience.
  • A good understanding of SAP would be desirable.
  • Experience of working on Environmental Chambers an advantage.
