Job summary

Technical Futures Ltd in Cambridge is seeking an Electronics Development Engineer to join a new team working on cutting-edge imaging solutions for security, defence and industrial applications. You will bridge development and manufacturing, ensuring robust electronics and PCB assemblies for scalable production.

You will contribute to DFM/DFA/DFT, transition products from prototype to production, and gain exposure to FPGA and image processing as part of a mission-critical project.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Electronics Engineering or a similar discipline.
  • Experience of 3-4 years in an electronic manufacturing environment.
  • Solid understanding of DFM/DFA/DFT.
  • Proven experience with PCB assembly and electronics integration.
  • Exposure to video standards and USB; understanding of automation software; and experience designing products to military standards.

Responsibilities

  • Transition electronics from development to production, ensuring DFM/DFA compliance and scalable manufacturing readiness.
  • Support products from prototype through to production for low to medium volume products.
  • Contribute to the development of mission-critical imaging systems and broaden skills with exposure to FPGA and image processing.

Job description

Overview

An Electronics Development Engineer with a good understanding of DFM/DFA and with knowledge of complex PCB assemblies will become a key member of a new team for an award‑winning High‑Tech Company developing cutting‑edge imaging solutions for Security, Defence and Industrial customers. Working closely with R&D, Manufacturing and quality teams, you will be responsible for the electronics aspects of transitioning products from development through to scalable manufacturing, drawing on your electronics and PCB assembly manufacturing knowledge.

Qualified to degree level in Electronics Engineering or a similar discipline, the successful Electronics Development Engineer will contribute to the development of a mission‑critical range of imaging systems used worldwide. You will also have the opportunity to broaden your skills with exposure to FPGA and image processing.

Responsibilities

– Transition electronics from development to production, ensuring DFM/DFA compliance and scalable manufacturing readiness.

Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Electronics Engineering or a similar discipline.
  • Minimum of 3‑4 years’ experience within an electronic manufacturing environment.
  • Industrial experience of using Altium PCB CAD.
  • Solid understanding of DFM/DFA/DFT.
  • Experience supporting products from prototype through to production for low to medium volume products.
  • Proven experience of PCB assembly and electronics integration.
  • Exposure to video standards and USB, an understanding of automation software and experience designing products to military standards.
