Job summary

Moog Inc. Wolverhampton is seeking an Electronics Design Engineer - Test Systems to develop analogue and digital electronics for advanced Test Equipment Systems used in qualification and production acceptance testing of Moog Aircraft Flight Control Systems.

You will work onsite at Wolverhampton, collaborating with the Test Systems Design Manager and internal stakeholders to deliver robust electronic solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in electronics or electrical engineering (Masters preferred).
• Experience in analogue and digital electronics design with application to closed-loop control and transducer conditioning.
• Experience in the design and manufacture of industrial machines.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience developing electronic/electrical solutions for multi-axis, closed-loop, servo-hydraulic and electromechanical test systems, including safety-related equipment, PLCs and motor drive systems.
• Desirable: qualifications in Safety Directives and Standards.
• Proficient in using diagnostic equipment to fault-find electronics from first principles.
• Experience with eCAD, PCB software, LabView, DOORS, JIRA, MATLAB and SubVersion.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and basic DOS/Windows environments; knowledge of C++ and Visual Basic is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design analogue and digital electronic solutions to support production and control of hydro-mechanical and electro-mechanical Test Systems.
• Apply safety standards and guidelines in the design and integration of electronics into Test Equipment Systems.
• Define architecture, requirements, concept, design, verification, validation and final release for Test Systems.
• Assist in defining electronic/electrical solutions for Test Equipment Proposals.
• Prepare documentation and participate in technical reviews with peers and Chief Engineers.
• Support root cause investigations across Test Equipment Systems and components.
