Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist lead engineers with the installation of CCTV, intruder alarms, access control, and intercoms.
  • Transport tools and materials to sites and ensure secure storage.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while following health and safety protocols.

As the business continues to expand, they're seeking a proactive Installation Engineer Mate to assist their skilled engineers on a wide range of installations and projects.

Role Overview

This is a practical, hands‑on position supporting the installation of electronic security systems. It offers a great pathway for individuals with experience in electrical work, cabling, or the security sector who are eager to build their expertise and advance toward becoming a fully qualified Installation Engineer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist lead engineers with the installation of:
  • CCTV systems (IP & analogue)
  • Intruder alarms
  • Access control and intercoms
  • Assist with cable installation, equipment mounting, and material preparation as instructed.
  • Transport tools, equipment, and materials to sites and ensure they are stored securely.
  • Support testing and commissioning activities under guidance.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area while following all health and safety protocols.
  • Offer general on‑site assistance to the engineering team.
Requirements
  • Some experience of electrical work, cabling, or construction / site work.
  • Good practical / DIY skills and willingness to learn.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work safely.
  • Full UK driving licence (or working towards it).
  • Flexibility to travel and occasionally work out of hours.
  • ECS / CSCS card. (Desirable)
  • Basic knowledge of electronic security or networking. (Desirable)
  • Experience using hand and power tools. (Desirable)
