Job summary

Wallace Hind Selection is seeking an Electronic Design Engineer to design and develop electronic circuitry and firmware for portable and handheld electrical equipment within our R&D team.

In this senior, autonomous role you will contribute to redesigns for annual product launches, tackle analogue and digital design, high voltage aspects and embedded firmware for ARM microcontrollers, using Altium and LTSpice, with flexible core hours and on-site Watford facilities.

Qualifications

• You're an experienced Electronic Design Engineer with hands-on analogue and digital design experience.
• Exposure to instrumentation or measurement equipment is advantageous.
• Knowledge of embedded firmware design for ARM-based microcontrollers (e.g. STM32) would be beneficial.

Electronic Design Engineer

Are you an Electronic Design Engineer looking to step up into a more senior, responsible and autonomous position within a cutting-edge R&D team? We are looking for candidates having good electronic circuit design and electricaldesign with some basic firmware programming experience. Any exposure to higher voltage such as mains or EV would be an advantage. JOB DESCRIPTION:

Electronic Design Engineer - Electronic Circuit Design, R&D, Test and Measurement Instrumentation

As our Electronic Design Engineer working in our R&D department, you will be designing and developing electronic circuitry and firmware for portable and hand held electrical equipment. You will be redesigning existing products for annual product launches.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Product design of electronic circuitry and firmware for portable electrical equipment.
• Maintenance of existing product line, e.g. due to component obsolescence, changes in standards, etc

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

You're an experienced Electronic Design Engineer with some exposure to an R & D environment. You have hands-on experience of both analogue and digital electronic design.

Any experience of design / new product development of instrumentation or measurement equipment would be an obvious benefit.

Knowledge of embedded firmware design for ARM-based microcontrollers (e.g. STM32) would be of benefit, as would proficiency with PCB design and circuit simulation tools (e.g. Altium, LTSpice).

Candidates with inverter development experience are generally strong matches, as are some candidates with EV BMS design.

• Programming of real time, embedded firmware.
• Proficiency in C
• Analogue & digital electronic design.
• Schematic capture using Altium or similar.
• Experience of high voltage technology designs
• Designing products to a set of legal / safety standards.

Any exposure to ST MCU (Micro Controller Unit) design would be an advantage.
