CBSbutler in London is seeking an Electronics Systems Engineer to take complex hardware from concept through to production in a hands-on, hybrid London role.
You will design and lay out high-speed PCBs, work with DDR/PCIe/Ethernet/USB interfaces, develop FPGA-based hardware, and use Python for automation, testing and validation alongside software, systems and manufacturing engineers. This is a technically challenging, end-to-end design position.
London | Hybrid
If you’re an Electronics Engineer who enjoys taking complex hardware from concept through to a working, tested product, this is a role worth looking at.
I’m supporting a global information security technology business developing high-assurance products used by government and defence organisations to securely protect and share highly sensitive information. Due to large scale growth they are looking for 3 x Electronics Systems Engineers to join their London engineering team.
The big thing they need? Genuine hands‑on experience designing and laying out high‑speed PCBs.
You’ll be working on technically challenging hardware where performance, reliability and security genuinely matter, getting involved across the development lifecycle rather than being restricted to one small part of the process.
The key requirement is proven high-speed PCB design and layout experience.
We’d particularly like to speak with engineers who have worked with areas such as DDR, PCIe, Ethernet, USB, SERDES, LVDS or other high-speed interfaces, with an understanding of areas such as signal integrity, controlled impedance, differential pairs and length matching.
Experience with FPGA development, Python and hardware test/debug would make you particularly relevant.
You don't necessarily need a defence or cybersecurity background. Engineers coming from aerospace, communications, semiconductor, instrumentation, high-performance computing or other complex electronics environments could be equally interesting.
This isn't a management role. It's an opportunity for an engineer who wants to remain hands‑on technically, work on sophisticated hardware and continue developing their expertise.
