Heriot-Watt University and Sidon Water Ltd seek an Electrochemical Water Treatment Technology Specialist (KTP Associate) for a 26-month fixed-term role. The appointee will receive specialist training in electrochemistry, water chemistry analysis and predictive modelling to develop a framework for Sidon Water's Integro technology.

The role is based mainly at Sidon Water's Glenrothes premises with about nine months of lab work at Heriot-Watt's Riccarton campus in Edinburgh, with potential for a

Qualifications

• Master's degree in chemistry, electrochemistry, chemical engineering, environmental engineering, materials science or closely related discipline.
• Experience in designing and interpreting experiments, data analysis and troubleshooting in a lab setting.
• Strong IT skills including Excel and Word; ability to learn new analytical tools.
• Verbal and written communication skills with ability to present complex ideas to diverse audiences.

Responsabilités

• Plan and manage project activity with approved workplan, budgets and milestones.
• Design and conduct laboratory research on electrochemical behaviour and scale formation.
• Use CV, EIS to investigate ion behaviour and nucleation processes.
• Develop and validate methods for monitoring nucleation and scale suppression.
• Coordinate material and surface-characterisation studies (SEM/EDS/XPS/XRD) and interpret results.
