Location - Portsmouth ERF, Quartremaine Rd, Portsmouth, PO3 5QH

Hours: 40 hours per week - Must be flexible to work outside of normal hours if required.

As an Electro Mechanical Technician you will be responsible for maintenance tasks, involving electrical and mechanical fault finding, defect rectification and routine maintenance activities across the facility.

What will you be doing?
  • Carry out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance on a variety of plant and apparatus including overhead cranes, rotating equipment, pumps, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, etc. With a good understanding of 415 motors, variable speed drives, electrical switchgear.
  • Report, diagnose and remedy plant defects in a timely professional manner.
  • Propose and develop modifications/improvements to plant/apparatus as appropriate.
  • Supervise Company and Contractor staff as appropriate.
  • Carry out duties associated with company Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality Procedures, including audits. Maintain all work areas in a clean, tidy and safe condition.
  • Undertake other duties within the scope and spirit of the job as instructed by Management.
What are we looking for?
  • A time served Maintenance Technician with a recognised Electrical/Mechanical Apprenticeship, and a detailed knowledge of all aspects of maintenance techniques.
  • Previous experience gained in a continuous process industry.
  • Manual handling knowledge.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ideally have knowledge of CMMS systems, ideally 'INFOR'.
  • Flexible, with a creative approach to problem-solving.
  • Understanding of, and ability to interface with P.L.C. systems.
