Job Title: Electro/Mechanical Fitter
Term: Permanent, Full-Time
Working Hours:

  • Monday Thursday: 08 15
  • Friday: 08 30
  • Total: 37.5 hours per week
Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Electro/Mechanical Fitter to join our engineering team. This role involves the mechanical and electrical assembly of high-precision measurement machines, jigs, and fixtures. You will work closely with a team of experienced engineers, fitters, and wiremen to build complete systems from component level to finished product.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble mechanical and electrical components for precision measurement machines.
  • Perform bench fitting and mechanical assembly tasks.
  • Make minor adjustments to components using lathes, milling machines, and surface grinders.
  • Verify geometric tolerances using first principle measurement tools (e.g., DTI s, gauge blocks).
  • Assemble pneumatic systems and interpret pneumatic schematics.
  • Conduct fault finding across electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Read and work from detailed engineering drawings and general assembly schematics.
  • Carry out electrical panel wiring and interpret electrical/electronic diagrams.
  • Support calibration and fault finding on DC control systems.
  • Apply knowledge of stepper motors, control systems, sensors, and BUS systems.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum Level 3 Engineering qualification or time-served equivalent.
  • HNC qualification desirable.
  • Proven experience in mechanical/electrical fitting within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
