Due to the need to attend your MBDA site and the training provider as required for your apprenticeship, applicants need to ensure their home or rental location is appropriate, travel arrangements are manageable and travel time is minimised as required for your role.
In your first year you will attend college full time during term time. In the college holidays you'll be onsite full time in your home function of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC). In years two and three you'll be at college for a day and a half, with the rest of your working week onsite. In year four you can expect to be at college for one day per week. In year three your study location will be a mix of AMTEC and UWE (Frenchay Campus) whereas in year four you'll study at UWE.
The EMC and Radiation Effects (RE) department is like no other within MBDA. It sits within the Environmental Engineering and Facilities (EE&F) function and is split between a test team working hands on in our pioneering EMC Facility to simulate environments and also a highly skilled consultancy team that is embedded across all projects within MBDA to ensure good EMC practice & design. We play a fundamental role in bringing together MBDA’s missile systems: supporting design and test of Missile systems and electronic equipment.
