A well-established manufacturing firm in Orpington is seeking an experienced Electro-Mechanical Assembler for a contract role. You will assemble components, perform soldering, operate test equipment, and interpret technical drawings to ensure high-quality production. The ideal candidate has proven assembly experience and is comfortable using various tools in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in mechanical, electrical, or optical assembly.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering and electrical assembly drawings.
  • Skilled in soldering and wiring.
  • Familiarity with electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and optical components.
  • Experience operating lathe/CNC machinery.
  • Confidence in using a range of hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

Overview

Job Title: Electro-Mechanical Assembler

Location: Orpington

Hours: Monday to Thursday: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Friday 08:00 am – 1:00 pm

Pay: £14.00 – £18.00 PH (DOE)

Type: 3–6 Months contract

Start Date: Immediate

Our client is a well-established manufacturer who is looking for an experienced Electro-Mechanical Assembler to join the team on a contract basis.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble components to precise specifications using engineering and schematic drawings
  • Perform soldering and wiring of electronic components to industry standards
  • Operate test equipment (e.g., spectrometers, multimeters) to verify unit compliance
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments during assembly tasks
  • Interpret technical drawings to produce or modify parts using lathe and/or CNC machinery
  • Package and inspect final assemblies for dispatch readiness
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in mechanical, electrical, or optical assembly (or a similar technical role)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering and electrical assembly drawings
  • Skilled in soldering and wiring
  • Familiarity with electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and optical components
  • Experience operating lathe/CNC machinery
  • Confidence in using a range of hand and power tools
  • Capable of light lifting and carrying tasks when required
