Job summary

British Gas is seeking an Electrician to deliver high-quality electrical work in domestic properties, focusing on safety, compliance, and right-first-time outcomes.

You will diagnose issues efficiently, provide professional customer advice, and contribute to a culture of safety and excellent service while supporting future Net Zero technologies training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience as a qualified electrician.
• 2365 Parts 1-2 or equivalent with Level 3 Technical Certificate incl NET AM2.
• 2382 - BS 7671 IET Wiring Regulations.
• Proven experience in the electrical industry.
• 2391/52 (or equivalent) desirable.
• Willingness to train in Net Zero technologies.

Responsibilities

• Perform fault finding and repairs in domestic properties.
• Complete electrical installations and upgrades to safety standards.
• Conduct full and partial rewires as required.
• Ensure all work is safe, compliant, and right first time; provide customer guidance.

Job description

As an Electrician, you'll use your technical expertise to deliver safe, high-quality electrical work in domestic properties, including:

• Fault finding and repairs
• Electrical installations and upgrades
• Full and partial rewires
• Ensuring all work is completed safely, compliantly, and right first time

You'll combine strong technical capability with excellent customer service, diagnosing issues efficiently, achieving first-time fixes, and providing professional advice to customers where appropriate.

Training & Development

While EV charging and other Net Zero technologies are not a current responsibility of the role, they form an important part of our future. We offer potential opportunities for electricians to train, upskill, and gain additional qualifications in emerging technologies as the role evolves, making this a strong long-term career opportunity.

• Minimum 2 years' experience working as a qualified electrician
• City & Guilds 2365 Parts 1 & 2 (or equivalent), culminating in a Level 3 Technical Certificate , including the NET AM2

About your role

We're looking for skilled Electricians to join our experienced Field Engineering team, helping ensure customers receive safe, high-quality electrical work exactly when they need it. Being there for our customers is our priority, and you'll play a key role in delivering same-day fixes and high standards of electrical safety in customers' homes.

Salary & Rewards

Base salary: £43,045
