Job summary

A leading sports organization based in Wimbledon is looking for an Electrical Technician to perform maintenance tasks across club properties. Key responsibilities include ensuring electrical systems' safety and reliability, contributing to event preparations, and providing technical support during events. Ideal candidates will have the necessary electrical certifications and strong problem-solving skills to contribute to a premium experience for visitors.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) certification.
  • CSCS Card or equivalent skilled card.
  • Inspection & Testing Certification (e.g., City & Guilds 2391 or 2394 / 2395).
  • Health & Safety Training (e.g., Manual Handling, Working at Height, Asbestos Awareness desired).
  • IOSH or equivalent safety management training (desired).
  • HV Authorised Person (AP) training and certification (desired).
  • LV Authorised Person (AP) training and certification (desired).
  • Basic IT skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrable experience maintaining electrical systems within an Estate Management department or through an FM service provider.
  • Strong fault-finding skills and ability to follow complex instructions.
  • Fully conversant with building regulations and electrical compliance standards.
  • Experience using technical equipment for diagnostics and commissioning of electrical systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Review monthly reports on maintenance activities.
  • Support the build and de-rig phases for The Championships.
  • Respond to electrical faults during events.
  • Work closely with contractors and internal teams.
  • Maintain detailed records of electrical works.
Job description
What you will be doing

Carry out electrical tasks across all Club properties, including planned and reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and installation LV systems, lighting, power distribution, and control systems.

Contribute to the year-round operation and upkeep of electrical infrastructure, ensuring readiness for The Championships and maintaining high standards of fit, finish, and reliability.

Provide support not only to the electrical team but also to other trades within the Estate Management department as required.

Ensure full compliance with business and regulatory health and safety requirements, promoting a safe working environment and monitoring contractor compliance.

Assist the Helpdesk team by providing technical advice and feedback on issued tasks, ensuring procedures are accurate and relevant to the identified electrical assets.

Participate in training and development activities, maintaining required competencies as outlined in the departmental training matrix.

Ensure assigned electrical elements of the Championships build and de-rig schedules are delivered on time and to the expected standard.

Review monthly reports on planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive tasks, and other operational activities, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring service continuity and FSI tasks are up to date.

What part your role will play in The Championships

Support the build and de-rig phases by installing, testing, and commissioning temporary electrical setups for broadcast, hospitality, and operational areas.

Respond rapidly to electrical faults or issues during the event to minimise disruption and maintain service continuity.

Work closely with contractors and internal teams to deliver electrical services to Championship standards, ensuring safety, reliability, and presentation.

Assist with the setup and maintenance of temporary power supplies, lighting rigs, emergency systems, and power distribution panels required for the event.

Monitor and maintain critical systems such as UPS, emergency lighting, and BMS to ensure uninterrupted operation throughout the tournament.

Provide technical support to other trades and departments during the Championships, contributing to a seamless and professional delivery.

Participate in extended hours or shift patterns as required to support the demands of the event schedule.

Maintain detailed records of electrical works carried out during the Championships for compliance and post-event review.

About you

NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent
