Job summary

Example Recruitment Group is seeking electricians to join our team for smoke alarm inspections and minor electrical works across social housing properties in Southend-on-Sea. This is a self-employed / subcontractor role with clear expectations and ongoing opportunities.

You will visit occupied properties, carry out inspections, identify alarms needing replacement, and carry out replacements with proper documentation. A van and tools are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in social housing or occupied properties is desirable.
• Good understanding of electrical safety and smoke alarm systems.
• Able to complete electrical certification accurately.
• Comfortable using a PDA/tablet to record inspection information.
• Self-employed and available to undertake subcontract work.
• Must have own van and tools.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable, organised and able to work independently.

Rate: £22 per hour

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm

The Role

• Identify alarms that are expired, damaged or require replacement.
• Replace smoke alarms where required.
• Complete the necessary Minor Works Certificate following replacement works.
