Job summary

Panels and Profiles, part of Tata Steel Building Systems, is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician for its Shotton site. You will maintain and improve electrical systems powering high‑performance manufacturing processes.

The role requires an HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, experience with control systems and PLCs (Siemens preferred), and a proactive safety mindset. You’ll work with contractors, train operators, and contribute to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• HNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering (preferred).
• Experience in electrical maintenance in manufacturing/industrial settings.
• Familiarity with control systems and PLCs; Siemens experience desirable.
• Proficient with IT systems and engineering software.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and coaching skills.
• Proactive, safety-first mindset; able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair electrical and process machinery to maximise uptime and ensure safe operation.
• Lead and support preventative maintenance programmes to reduce unplanned downtime.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve electrical faults and breakdowns quickly and effectively.
• Work with contractors and suppliers to source resources and components efficiently.
• Train and coach production operators in basic electrical safety and maintenance best practices.
• Support continuous improvement by recommending engineering solutions to optimise quality, cost, and productivity.
• Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies across all activities.
