Electrician – Portsmouth Naval Base

💷 £35,000 – £38,000 + overtime

🕐 Full-time, 37 hours per week

We’re looking for a skilled Electrician to join a busy team providing electrical shore connections and temporary power solutions to vessels within Portsmouth Naval Base.

This is a hands‑on role in a fascinating environment — supporting some of the UK’s most advanced ships while working across both 50Hz and 60Hz systems. No two days are the same, and your work will genuinely make an impact.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Installing and maintaining temporary electrical supplies, lighting and shore connections for vessels.
  • Producing simple installation diagrams and checking kit before installation.
  • Liaising directly with customers to ensure everything runs smoothly.
  • Carrying out inspections and maintenance in line with safety and quality standards.
What we’re looking for:
  • NVQ (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation and Inspection, or a recognised apprenticeship.
  • 17th or 18th Edition (BS7671).
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Confident IT skills (Microsoft Office, smartphone/tablet use).
  • A strong communicator who enjoys working as part of a team and takes pride in getting the job done safely and to a high standard.
