Job summary

Aureos Group is recruiting an Electrician for our Isle of Wight base. You will join a small team delivering electrical works on a national MOD contract, covering Eastern England from Lincoln to Ipswich.

You will install, maintain, and test across commercial and industrial sites, with emphasis on safety, quality, and compliance with BS7671. You must hold 18th Edition, C&G2391 is desirable, and be capable of obtaining MoD clearance.

Qualifications

• Reliable and time conscious with a proactive approach.
• Completed electrical apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
• NVQ Level3 in Electrical Installation or Maintenance.
• AM2 and 18th Edition Regulations are required; 2391 desirable.
• ECS Card and full UK driving licence are essential.
• Strong focus on safety and quality; able to work independently or in a team.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills; proficient with Office365.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical installation, maintenance, and testing per BS7671 and Aureos policies.
• Set out jobs from drawings, requisition materials, ensure high standards.
• Commission and test electrical systems and issue certification.
• Fault-find and carry out remedial works.
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors and suppliers as needed.
• Support and mentor apprentices or trainees in daily tasks.
• Conduct LV electrical EICR, emergency lighting testing and PAT testing.
• Working at height; manage subcontractors for specialist tasks.

Job description

Aureos have an exciting opportunity for an Electrician to join our team based in the Isle of Wight.

Our electricians are at the heart of what we do, delivering essential electrical works that keep our customers’ operations running safely and efficiently.

You’ll work on a variety of commercial and industrial projects, supporting installation, maintenance, and testing across a diverse range of sites, ensuring that every job is completed safely, to standard, and with pride. The successful candidate will integrate into a small operational team working on a national contract at MOD sites covering Eastern England from Lincoln to Ipswich.

The successful candidate must hold current training up to 18th Edition, including Inspection & Testing C&G2391, and be capable of obtaining full MoD SC clearance.

Tasks and duties

• Carry out electrical installation, maintenance, and testing in line with BS7671 and Aureos policies and procedures.
• Set out jobs from drawings and specifications, requisition materials, and ensure all works are completed to the highest standard.
• Commission and test electrical systems and issue relevant certification.
• Fault‑find and carry out remedial works.
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers where required.
• Support and mentor apprentices or trainees as part of your daily role.
• LV electrical EICR.
• Emergency light testing.
• PAT testing.
• Working at Height.
• Managing sub‑contractors to complete their specialist tasks, and various small electrical install projects.

Qualifications, training and skills

• Individual must be reliable and time conscious with a proactive approach.
• Completion of a registered electrical apprenticeship or equivalent.
• NVQ Level3 in Electrical Installation or Maintenance (or equivalent).
• Achievement Measurement2 (AM2).
• City & Guilds2382-18 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations).
• City & Guilds2391 (Inspection, Testing and Certification) – desirable.
• ECS Card.
• Full UK driving licence.
• A strong focus on safety and quality.
• The ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Confident in working with Office365 software to complete worksheets and certificates.
• Ideally3+years of experience.
