Job summary

Niyaa People Ltd is seeking an Electrician for a 12-13 week contract on an Edgbaston university estate in Birmingham. The role focuses on planned and reactive electrical maintenance within a site-based university environment.

Ideal candidates will have an NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Maintenance and the 18th Edition, with experience in commercial maintenance, PPMs, fault-finding, lighting, and busbar systems.

Qualifications

• Experience completing PPMs, reactive repairs and fault-finding
• Experience working with lighting, sockets and busbar systems

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs)
• Completing reactive electrical repairs across the university
• Replacing and repairing light fittings and sockets
• Maintaining and fault-finding on underfloor busbar systems
• Diagnosing and resolving electrical faults
• Completing minor electrical installation work where required
• Supporting the wider university estates maintenance team

Job description

Take on an initial 12-13-week contract as an Electrician in Edgbaston, Birmingham, earning £25-£26 per hour while carrying out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across a large university estate. There is also potential for the position to become permanent following the initial contract.

You’ll be working as part of an established estates team, maintaining buildings and electrical systems across the university. The work is predominantly maintenance focused, with occasional minor installation work where required.

I’d love to see CVs from anyone who has worked as an Electrician, Maintenance Electrician, Estates Electrician or Commercial Electrician within universities or other large commercial estates.

As an Electrician, you will be:

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs)
• Completing reactive electrical repairs across the university
• Replacing and repairing light fittings and sockets
• Maintaining and fault-finding on underfloor busbar systems
• Diagnosing and resolving electrical faults
• Completing minor electrical installation work where required

• £25-£26 per hour

• Start time of either 8:00 am or 9:00 am

Location & travel

This Electrician role is based entirely on the university estate in Edgbaston, Birmingham, providing consistent site-based work without travelling between properties.
