Job description

Are you an experienced Maintenance Electrician looking for a role with variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to work on a wide range of electrical systems? We are seeking a motivated Maintenance Electrician (APE) to join our team and play a key part in maintaining and improving our site infrastructure. As a Maintenance Electrician, you will be responsible for electrical installations, planned and reactive maintenance, testing, and contributing to the design and build of electrical control systems in a hands‑on, dynamic environment where safety, quality and continuous improvement are at the heart of what we do.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out electrical maintenance, installations, testing, and repairs in accordance with current IEE regulations.
  • Support preventive and reactive maintenance activities, including HVAC, emergency lighting and fire alarm testing.
  • Assist in the design and installation of new electrical systems to continually enhance site infrastructure.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical breakdowns to minimise downtime.
  • Produce plans, timescales and costings for upgrades and remedial works.
  • Source replacement parts for obsolete or end‑of‑life equipment.
  • Use CAFM and helpdesk systems to manage and complete job tasks on time.
  • Issue electrical isolation permits and manage permits to work when required.
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety and engineering best practice.
Salary & Benefits
  • Competitive salary £47,000‑£55,000 per annum (dependent on experience) within Kent and Southeast.

Essential Qualifications
  • BS7671:2018 – 18th Edition qualification.
  • City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection & Testing).
  • Experience in plant operations with planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Strong communication skills and good IT literacy (Microsoft Excel & Word).
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and understand RAMS.
  • Knowledge of electrical control systems and panels.
Desirable Qualifications
  • City & Guilds 6711.
  • MEWP licence (training available).
  • Unlicensed Asbestos Worker certification (training provided).
  • PLC programming/diagnostics experience (Siemens / Allen Bradley).
  • Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics and automation.
