Location note: Minley, near Blackwater, Hampshire

The role

As an Electrician, you’ll be responsible for delivering planned and reactive electrical maintenance across the site. From fault diagnosis to inspection and testing, your work will help ensure the safety, reliability and efficiency of critical infrastructure that supports defence training operations. This is a hands-on role where your technical expertise will make a real difference, and you’ll be part of a team that values precision, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Day-to-day you’ll be required to
  • Carry out expert fault diagnosis and coordinate repairs across the estate.
  • Deliver a regime of testing and inspection for electrical systems, power distribution, lighting, wiring and controls.
  • Support predictive maintenance programmes aligned with asset management plans.
  • Identify and implement improvements to electrical services and infrastructure.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of electrical supplies and components.

Please note that this position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time.

This is a full-time role, totalling 40 hours per week, based at Minley. Working Monday to Thursday, 8am–4:30pm, and Friday, 8am–4pm. Participation in an on-call rota will be required after six months, with additional pay and overtime rates.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
