Job summary

Aureos is seeking an Approved Electrician to perform electrical installation, maintenance, testing, inspection, and fault-finding across commercial, industrial, and domestic environments in Scotland. The role demands BS7671 compliance, accurate documentation, and a focus on safety and quality workmanship.

Location: Scotland, Highlands & Islands. You will work on site, travel to various locations, and participate in planned preventive maintenance and reactive tasks.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
• City & Guilds2365/2330 or equivalent electrical qualification.
• City & Guilds2382-18 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations).
• AM2 Qualification.
• ECS Gold Card (Approved Electrician).
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, modify, and repair electrical systems and equipment.
• Carry out electrical installations in accordance with BS7671 (18th Edition).
• Conduct fault-finding and diagnosis of electrical systems and rectify defects.
• Perform inspection, testing, and certification of electrical installations where qualified.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Ensure all work complies with current Health & Safety legislation and company policies.
• Complete electrical installation certificates, job sheets, and relevant documentation accurately.
• Undertake planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and colleagues on site.
• Ensure tools, equipment, and materials are maintained and used safely.
• Assist with project delivery, commissioning activities, and site surveys.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and report safety concerns.

• ECS Gold Card (Approved Electrician status).
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable Qualifications

• City & Guilds2391 / 2394 &2395 Inspection and Testing.
• IPAF Licence.
• PASMA Certificate.
• First Aid at Work.
• Relevant Health & Safety qualifications.

Knowledge & Experience

• Proven experience as an Approved Electrician.
• Experience working on commercial and/or industrial electrical installations.
• Strong knowledge of BS7671 Wiring Regulations.
• Ability to diagnose and rectify electrical faults.
• Experience installing containment systems, wiring, and distribution equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Experience

• Experience in facilities management or maintenance contracts.
• Experience in renewable energy installations.
• Experience supervising apprentices or junior electricians.

SSE Authorization Skills & Competencies

• Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

Working Conditions
