Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £49,310.40 + overtime & attendance allowance

About the Company

We are recruiting on behalf of a rapidly expanding manufacturing business that supplies bespoke aluminium extrusions to a wide range of sectors, including construction, engineering and manufacturing. Their product range includes window and door frames, supported by two main production areas: Extrusion and Thermal Bridging/Paint Line/Machining. This position sits within the Extrusion side of the operation.

The Role

We are seeking an Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer to join a busy and growing manufacturing facility. This is a multi-skilled position with a strong electrical focus, supporting continuous production and ensuring minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities
  • Electrical maintenance on 3-phase motors and some inverters/drives
  • Mechanical work including changing bearings, seals, hydraulics and pneumatics (often straight swaps)
  • Fault finding and basic knowledge of Siemens S7 PLCs
  • Supporting proactive and reactive maintenance activities across extrusion machinery
Skills & Experience Required
  • Electrically biased engineer (Level 3 apprenticeship ideal, Level 2 minimum)
  • Multi-skilled maintenance background preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong mechanical skills alongside electrical competence
Shift Pattern & Benefits
  • £49,310.40 per year
  • 3-week rotating shift pattern (12-hour shifts, 6am-6pm / 6pm-6am):
    • Week 1: Mon/Tues OFF, Wed/Thurs/Fri DAYS
    • Week 2: Mon/Tues/Wed NIGHTS, Thurs/Fri OFF
    • Week 3: Mon/Tues DAYS, Wed OFF, Thurs/Fri NIGHTS
  • Additional 12-hour day every 6 weeks (average 42 hours per week / 39.5 hours after unpaid breaks)
  • Tuesday day shifts used for TPMs (06:00-18:00)
  • Attendance allowance: £86.67 per month / £1,040.04 per year
  • Overtime:
    • 1.3x weekday
    • 1.5x weekends (double time after 8 hours)
    • No weekend working required, but preference for one weekend per month overtime
  • 20 days holiday (12-hour shifts)
  • Company pension scheme
