Job summary

Gordon Murray Group in Windlesham is seeking a Technical Category Manager - Electrical & VMI to lead strategic procurement of electrical components across new, modified and carryover programmes. You will develop and manage VMI arrangements, ensure robust supply, monitor supplier performance and work with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Finance to optimise stock, lead times and cost.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in technical procurement, ideally in automotive or similar engineering environment.
• Strong understanding of electrical/electronic components and supplier capability.
• Experience with Vendor Managed Inventory and inventory optimization.
• Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems, data integrity and forecasting.
• Proven negotiation skills and ability to secure favourable terms.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic procurement of electrical and electronic components across programmes.
• Develop and implement category strategies balancing cost, quality, availability and lead time.
• Own and develop VMI strategies with key suppliers and manage stock levels.
• Monitor vendor performance, lead times and inventory to ensure continuity.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing and Finance to optimise supply.
