Job summary

Meica Link Ltd in Sussex is seeking an Electrical Tester (2391) to perform installation, testing and inspection across commercial and industrial environments within the water and infrastructure sector. You will interpret drawings, diagnose faults and produce digital reports as part of a proactive maintenance team.

The role requires solid LV electrical experience, relevant qualifications, and a strong safety focus, with opportunities for career development within a growing MEICA division.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or time-served apprenticeship in electrical trade.
• City & Guilds 2391/2394/2395 Testing and Inspection qualifications.
• Experience with commercial/industrial LV electrical systems.
• Strong health and safety knowledge and safe systems of work.

Responsibilities

• Interpreting electrical drawings and schedules for testing and inspection.
• Test and inspect electrical installations to ensure safety and compliance.
• Diagnose faults and determine root causes.
• Install and maintain electrical equipment and systems.
• Complete planned preventive and reactive maintenance.
• Produce digital certification and technical reports.

The Role

As an Electrical Tester, you’ll be responsible for carrying out electrical installation, testing, inspection and maintenance activities across commercial and industrial environments within the water and infrastructure sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpreting and working from electrical drawings, schematics and schedules.
• Carrying out testing and inspection of electrical systems to ensure safety and compliance.
• Diagnosing electrical faults and identifying root causes.
• Installing, assembling and maintaining electrical equipment and systems.
• Completing planned preventative and reactive maintenance works.
• Producing accurate digital certification and technical reports.
• Ordering and collecting materials and components required for works.
• Responding efficiently to breakdowns and fault‑finding activities.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience within electrical testing, maintenance and installation.
• NVQ Level 3 or a time‑served electrical apprenticeship (or equivalent).
• City & Guilds 2391 / 2394 & 2395 Testing and Inspection qualifications (or equivalent).
• Experience working on commercial or industrial LV electrical systems.
• Strong understanding of health & safety regulations and safe systems of work.
• Experience completing electrical certification and reports digitally.
• A proactive approach with strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving abilities.
