Astute’s Power Team is partnered with a market-leading company, to recruit for an Electrical Technician to work at their Energy from Waste Power Station near Deptford, Southeast London.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Carrying out pre-planned and reactive maintenance work on PLC controlled equipment, HV/LV systems, motors, pneumatic systems and variable speed drives
• Completing routine inspections and undertaking preventative maintenance work as part of preventative maintenance management, to ensure equipment is consistently in good condition
• Ensuring maintenance work is properly recorded on the site CMMS
• To liaise with outside contractors on specific repairs / maintenance work
• Carrying out all activities with the highest regard for health and safety

Please note: This role will be working on a day-shift basis where you will be working up to 7 days per week in a row with rest days after.

Professional qualifications

• A time served apprenticeship with an HNC in electrical/electronic engineering, measurement & control or similar
• A formal Health and Safety qualification such as IOSH will be advantageous but not a necessity

Personal skills, prior experience and knowledge

• Prior electrical maintenance experience in a heavy process environment such as a power station, refinery, chemical plant, paper mill, FMCG etc
• Experience maintaining and fault finding on motors, variable speed drives, switchgear and HV/LV systems
• Experience maintaining instrumentation equipment such as pressure sensors, thermocouples, flow metres, CEMS, etc.
• A flexible approach to working routines as this is shift work
