In this role, you will design and integrate electrical systems for bespoke robotic solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards. Qualifications

Position: Electrical Technician

Location: Labman HQ, Stokesley, North Yorkshire

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 (based on experience)

Employment Type: Full-Time (Monday - Friday 37.5hrs)

Overview

As an Electrical Technician, you'll play a key role in the design, wiring, and integration of robotic systems. Using your practical electrical engineering skills, you'll help deliver innovative, high-quality automation solutions that embody Labman's mission to enable science through technology.

What You'll Do:
  • Participate in the full life cycle of engineering projects, including installation and commissioning (potentially worldwide)
  • Design and develop electrical systems for bespoke robotic solutions, including power circuits, motors, sensors, and safety systems
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring panels, and peripheral hardware to a high standard
  • Loom, label, and terminate cables and pneumatic lines neatly and accurately
  • Ensure all systems meet EU and ISO standards, directives, and safety legislation
  • Communicate effectively with project leaders, engineers, and clients to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Support fault finding, testing, and continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle
What You'll Need:
  • HNC (Level 4) or higher in Electrical / Electronic Engineering
  • Minimum 2 years' relevant industry experience
  • Strong ability to interpret IEC circuit diagrams and component datasheets
  • Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Clear communication and teamworking abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Effective time and task management
Desirable:
  • Experience using SEE Electrical or similar drawing packages
  • Familiarity with industrial fieldbuses, functional safety (ISO 13849), and diagnostic tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators)
  • Basic soldering and prototyping skills
  • Knowledge of single-phase and three-phase systems, DC power circuits, and servo/stepper motors
