Job summary

Blue Arrow is recruiting an Electrical Engineering Technician to support the design and delivery of bespoke automation and electrical systems projects in the Midlands. The role focuses on producing drawings and schematics, selecting components and integrating control panels with automated equipment.

We expect hands-on experience with electrical design tools and a strong eye for detail to ensure documentation is accurate and ready for manufacture and installation.

Qualifications

• Experience producing electrical drawings, schematics and panel layouts in industrial, automation, manufacturing or machinery environments.
• Proficient with EPLAN Electric P8 or similar software.
• Understanding of industrial control panels, automation systems and electrical components.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, technical specifications and project documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to producing and maintaining design documentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and develop electrical design drawings and documentation using EPLAN Electric P8.
• Produce electrical schematics, panel layouts, cable schedules, bills of materials and associated project documentation.
• Support the selection and specification of electrical components in line with project requirements and engineering standards.
• Assist in the design of control panels, power distribution systems, drives, motors, safety devices, sensors and associated equipment.
• Respond to technical queries from manufacturing, software, installation and commissioning teams.
• Ensure all electrical documentation is accurate, controlled and suitable for manufacture and installation.

The Opportunity
