Electrical Technician

Reed Engineering is working with a globally recognised company that is looking for someone to join their Engineering team as an Electrical Technician, reporting to the Senior Production Engineering Manager. This role is crucial for ensuring the reliable and GMP‑compliant operation of production‑related equipment in their Manufacturing and Packaging machinery. If you are dedicated to maintaining high standards and driving continuous improvement, this position is for you.

Day-to-Day of the Role
  • Conduct maintenance, fault finding and repair of all electrical equipment and controls associated with production processing and packaging equipment to meet production priorities and maintain GMP compliance.
  • Engage in project work, collaborating with other departments to enhance system efficiency and reliability.
  • Document equipment failures and corrective actions in CMMS systems such as Maximo to prevent recurrence of faults.
  • Perform PLC and computer‑based system backups.
  • Maintain a multi‑disciplined, flexible approach to team working, supporting a range of tasks as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Time‑served apprenticeship or equivalent experience in a relevant field (City & Guilds level 3, BTEC Level 3, NVQ level 3, ONC/HNC/HND or technical equivalent).
  • Proven fault‑finding skills and ability to read engineering drawings.
  • Aptitude for producing neat, clear and concise documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong ability to prioritise and plan work effectively.
  • Computer literacy is essential.
Preferred Additional Skills
  • Knowledge of PLC and computer‑based systems.
  • Experience modifying parameters of configurable devices such as inverters, controllers and transmitter devices.
  • Capable of electrical installations for industrial equipment.
