The Role: Electrical Engineer

The Electrical Engineer supports the Area Operations Manager (AOM) and Technical Supervisor by delivering reactive and preventative maintenance for building engineering systems and services.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Maintaining low voltage (LV) electrical systems and executing PPM routines.
2. Repairing and maintaining electrical equipment and fixtures.
3. Supporting small projects and project handovers.
4. Ensuring compliance with BS7671 wiring regulations.
5. Diagnosing and repairing faults.
6. Conducting risk assessments for maintenance tasks.
7. Liaising with helpdesk for task responses.
8. Maintaining site logbooks, compliance certifications, and generating reports.
9. Participating in emergency call-outs and aiding in cost reduction initiatives.
10. Supporting team needs as directed by the Technical Supervisor and/or AOM.

Person Specification

Candidates should demonstrate:

• Technical proficiency through NVQ level 3 or equivalent training.
• Willingness to undertake CBRE refresher training in areas such as emergency circuit breakers, lighting testing, water heater testing, and fire alarm testing.

Essential Qualifications

• Completion of an apprenticeship or equivalent in electrical installation and maintenance, with practical experience to demonstrate competence.
• City and Guilds Level 3 technical certificate or equivalent in electrical discipline.
• City and Guilds Level 3 certificate in electrical installations BS 7671 (18th Edition); consideration may be given to candidates without this qualification if obtained within 3 months of appointment.
