Job summary

An environmental services company in the UK is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to conduct maintenance on electrical systems across the plant. The ideal candidate will have NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering and experience in a heavy industrial setting, particularly in Waste or Power plants. Qualifications

  • Time served as an Electrical Maintenance Technician with competence in three-phase and single-phase power.
  • Proven experience within Heavy Industrial Engineering.
  • Experience in a Waste, Recycling, Power, or Process plant facility.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned, reactive maintenance on all electrical assets across the plant.
  • Fault finding, installing, and maintaining electrical systems.
  • Work at height on control systems for overhead cranes and boiler systems.
  • Assist during major maintenance periods, shutdowns, and outages when required to ensure maximum plant availability and efficiency.
  • Diagnose PLC and control wiring faults on rotating plant, including motor‑driven fans, guide vane actuation, and pumps.
  • Apply problem‑solving techniques to diagnose, remedy, and report plant defects and propose improvements to the Electrical Engineer.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records using the site CMMS.
  • Co‑coach apprentices to ensure they gain appropriate exposure to working practices and progress toward professional development.
Qualifications
  • Time served as an Electrical Maintenance Technician with competence in three‑phase and single‑phase power, control circuits, and equipment fault finding.
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent), with 17th or 18th Edition version.
  • Proven experience within Heavy Industrial Engineering.
  • Excellent health and safety awareness.
  • Experience within a Waste, Recycling, Power, or Process plant facility.
  • Competent IT user.
