Overview

Electrical Team Leader
South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust
Maudsley Hospital, Denmark Hill, London SE5 8AZ
£22.91 per hour
Monday - Friday 8am - 4.00pm (37.5 hours per week plus 30 minute lunch break)

Role includes on-call rota.

Responsibilities
  • Management of the team of site electricians on a day-to-day basis, as well as supporting the Estates Electrical Manager in the delivery of safe electrical/mechanical services across trust buildings.
  • Support the development and implementation of local plans for the Estates function, ensuring that services are offered to a high standard and run smoothly and efficiently, whilst on budget, and taking remedial action where needed.
  • Oversee and monitor engineering and electrical services and systems, as well as offering advice and ensuring compliance with statutory and or mandatory regulations.
  • Analyse and interpret engineering/electrical challenges, drawing on expert opinions to devise creative solutions that keep Trust Estate Buildings running seamlessly. Decode intricate engineering drawings and specifications, guiding others effectively.
  • Shape the future of our Estates function. Develop and execute local plans that elevate our services to the highest standards while maximizing efficiency.
  • Keep our systems up to date using both manual and computerized methods. Your meticulous attention to detail ensures smooth operations.
  • Negotiate and persuade as you convey complex information. Collaborate seamlessly with other trades, external agencies, and contractors.
  • Be part of our on-call team, ready to tackle repairs beyond regular hours.
Person Specification
  • Accredited, apprentice trained and extensive experience in management of people and specialist technical resources.
  • In depth knowledge and experience of the Health Technical Memoranda, ACOPs, Health and Safety at Work Act and all relevant legislation.
  • Demonstrable experience and knowledge of identifying faults/flaws from complex electrical drawings.
  • City & Guilds / NVQ level 3 in Electrical Installations, or equivalent.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Electrical Apprenticeship
  • This role may require you to show evidence of vocational level 3 qualification or at least 2 years relevant experience.
