Job summary

Amentum is seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor Engineer to support the safe and efficient delivery of electrical installations across water and wastewater infrastructure projects. The role supervises electrical construction, testing and commissioning activities, ensuring work meets safety, quality and technical standards.

You will coordinate with contractors and site teams, review drawings and RAMS, and help integrate PLC/SCADA systems while maintaining progress, quality and safety.

Qualifications

  • Qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience supervising electrical works in construction, infra or industrial settings.
  • Strong ability to interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety, isolation and permit‑to‑work procedures.
  • Experience managing contractors and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
  • Good communication and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise electrical installation, testing and commissioning across water and wastewater facilities.
  • Coordinate electrical contractors, site teams and project stakeholders.
  • Ensure installations meet designs, specifications, standards and regulations.
  • Oversee LV/HV systems, MCCs, switchgear, transformers, motors, generators, VSDs.
  • Support integration with instrumentation, PLC, SCADA and control systems.
  • Monitor progress, quality and safety, resolving technical issues.
  • Support inspections, energisation, commissioning and handover activities.
  • Review project drawings, RAMS, test certificates and as‑built records.

About the Role

Amentum is seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor Engineer to support the safe and efficient delivery of electrical installations across water and wastewater infrastructure projects. The role is responsible for supervising electrical construction, testing and commissioning activities, ensuring work is completed to the highest standards of safety, quality and technical compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise electrical installation, testing and commissioning activities across water and wastewater facilities.

  • Coordinate electrical contractors, site teams and multidisciplinary project stakeholders.

  • Ensure installations comply with approved designs, specifications, industry standards and statutory regulations.

  • Oversee the installation of LV/HV systems, MCCs, switchgear, transformers, motors, generators, variable‑speed drives and associated electrical equipment.

  • Support integration with instrumentation, PLC, SCADA and control systems.

  • Monitor progress, quality and safety performance, identifying and resolving technical issues.

  • Support inspections, testing, energisation, commissioning and project handover activities.

  • Review project documentation including drawings, schedules, RAMS, test certificates and as‑built records.

Essential Requirements
  • Qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.

  • Proven experience supervising electrical works within construction, infrastructure or industrial environments.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical installation, testing, commissioning and fault‑finding.

  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical specifications.

  • Good understanding of electrical safety, isolation and permit‑to‑work procedures.

  • Experience managing contractors and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.

  • Strong communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills.

Desirable Requirements
  • Experience within the UK water and wastewater sector.

  • Knowledge of LV/HV distribution systems, MCCs, VSDs and industrial control systems.

  • Experience working with PLC, SCADA and instrumentation interfaces.

  • Relevant electrical authorisations, SSSTS, SMSTS or equivalent safety qualifications.

  • Professional registration or progress towards EngTech, IEng or CEng.
