Job description

Job Role: Electrical Supervisor

Location: HMP Woodhill, Tattenhoe Street, Milton Keynes, MK4 4DA

Salary: £43,177.30 + £1,000 in RRA per annum and a 5% shift allowance for weekend working.

Contract: Full time/Permanent

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team at HMP Woodhill, a High Security and Adult/Male prison. HMP Woodhill runs like a self‑contained city and requires a dedicated Facilities Maintenance Team to keep it functioning safely and efficiently. As an Electrical Supervisor you will work alongside experienced electricians, plumbers, carpenters, painters and other trades to maintain the safety and reliability of the prison’s electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

Oversight of all electrical maintenance and emergencies, coordination of maintenance schedules, supervising junior staff, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and liaising with other trades and senior management to support smooth operations.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Five years’ experience as an electrician or equivalent.
  • Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical or building services.
  • Experience supervising staff.
  • Full driving licence, preferably D1.
  • C&G 2367 or 2357 (Electrical Installation) and NVQ level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent.
  • Certificate in BS7671 – The Requirements for Electrical Installations, 17th or 18th Edition.
  • Good Health & Safety knowledge.
  • Excellent organisational, time‑management and people skills.
