Job summary

A leading contractor in the UK transmission sector is seeking an Electrical Site Supervisor to oversee works at the Yaxley 400kV Substation. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in the transmission and distribution (T&D) sector, particularly on National Grid sites. Key responsibilities include supervising subcontractors, ensuring safety and quality standards, and providing daily project updates. This is a full-time site-based contract offering £450 per day outside IR35, with a rotating schedule of 12 days on and 2 days off.

Qualifications

Rate: £450 per day (Outside IR35)

Hours: 12 days on, 2 days off rotation

Start Date: Immediate

IR35 Status: Outside IR35

MRR Infrastructure is working on behalf of a leading contractor within the UK transmission and distribution sector to support the safe and timely delivery of the Yaxley 400kV Substation project.

We are now seeking an Electrical Site Supervisor with previous experience on National Grid sites to oversee electrical works on this high-profile project. This is a key supervisory role that requires hands‑on involvement in site activity, strong oversight of subcontractors, and the ability to maintain high safety and quality standards throughout the delivery phase.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Site Manager to ensure all electrical activities are delivered in line with programme expectations. You will be responsible for setting others to work, reviewing method statements and safe systems of work, supervising electrical subcontractors, and contributing to the production of site documentation including as‑built records. You will also be expected to provide daily updates and escape key issues as required, while maintaining a proactive and collaborative approach with the delivery team and wider stakeholders.

This position requires full‑time site presence in Yaxley, operating on a 12-on / 2-off rotation. The ability to manage your own travel and accommodation is essential.

Essential Requirements

• Full UK driving licence
• National Grid Competent Person NSI 6 & 8
• IOSH Managing Safely, SMSTS or SSSTS
• CSCS or CCNSG Safety Passport
• Minimum 5 years' experience in the T&D sector, ideally on National Grid sites
• Relevant supervisory experience in electrical construction or installation works
