Job summary

Ashby Finance is seeking an experienced Electrical Service Engineer to join a specialist engineering team near Warwick. The role combines hands-on panel building, wiring, commissioning, and customer support across varied industries.

You will read schematics, install and commission bespoke control systems, and support servicing at customer sites UK-wide. A strong fault-finding background and BS 7671:2018 18th Edition certification are essential.

Qualifications

  • Electrical qualification and practical industry experience are essential.
  • 18th Edition (BS 7671:2018) certification is required.
  • Experience building and wiring electrical control panels is necessary.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills are essential for this role.
  • Experience with industrial control systems, drives, relays, contactors, and related components is required.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematics is needed.
  • Basic mechanical assembly experience and willingness to support machinery builds when required are expected.
  • PLC programming or troubleshooting experience is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Build, wire, and test electrical control panels and machinery in-house.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and drawings.
  • Install, commission, and fault-find on bespoke electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Visit customer sites across the UK to provide servicing and technical support.
  • Support modifications and upgrades to existing control systems.
  • Assist with electrical integration of drives, sensors, safety circuits, and control hardware.
  • Produce and maintain electrical documentation and test records.
  • Provide customer training and conduct technical handovers as required.
  • Support component repairs and continuous improvement activities in the workshop.

A specialist engineering business based on the outskirts of Warwick is seeking a skilled individual to support the build, installation, and servicing of bespoke machinery and control systems.

What The Electrical Service Engineer Role Involves
  • Building, wiring, and testing electrical control panels and machinery in-house
  • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
  • Installing, commissioning, and fault-finding on bespoke electro-mechanical equipment
  • Visiting customer sites across the UK to provide servicing, maintenance, and technical support
  • Supporting modifications and upgrades to existing control systems
  • Assisting with electrical integration of drives, sensors, safety circuits, and control hardware
  • Producing and maintaining electrical documentation and test records
  • Providing customer training and conducting technical handovers where required
