Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Electrical Service Technician/Site Services Engineer to work for a leader in specialist equipment manufacturing. Job description
Overview

We are currently looking for an experienced Electrical Service Technician/Site Services Engineer to work for one of our clients in Burton on Trent. The client is a market-leading manufacturer of specialist equipment to a range of industry sectors including heavy engineering and aerospace. The work is varied and will involve fault finding/fault rectification, carrying electrical and some basic mechanical repairs, panel building and wiring, and attending planned maintenance visits and breakdowns, with travel both in the UK and overseas.

Responsibilities
  • Fault finding and fault rectification on electrical systems.
  • Carrying electrical and some basic mechanical repairs.
  • Panel building and wiring.
  • Attending planned maintenance visits and responding to breakdowns.
  • Work on installation projects as required, including testing and commissioning.
  • Surveying and estimating materials needed, and creating Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Qualified in an electrical discipline, ideally to HNC level; applications from NVQ Level 3 or above will be considered.
  • Proven track record in electrical maintenance and installation work.
  • Strong fault-finding skills.
  • Ability to interrogate PLC programmes, I/O. Knowledge of Siemens S7 and Allen Bradley.
  • Ability to follow circuit diagrams and specifications.
  • Project installation work and panel building experience.
  • Experience of commissioning new and refurbished machinery.
  • Basic mechanical installation skills.
  • Working knowledge of combustion systems is advantageous but not essential.
Travel

As this is a service role, candidates must be willing to travel regularly, both within the UK and overseas.
