Role Title: Electrical Service Engineer

Location: Field-based across the Central Belt of Scotland

Salary: £38,500 starting, with increases after 6 and 12 months + overtime available

Contract: Permanent | Full-time | Fully expensed company van

About the Role

We're looking for an Electrical Service Engineer to join a growing technical services business working across industrial and educational sites. This is a field-based role where you'll carry out electrical maintenance, fault-finding, and installation work on a range of equipment — keeping critical systems running safely and efficiently. You'll visit a variety of sites, use your technical know-how to solve problems on the spot, and take real pride in delivering a professional job every time.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical systems and equipment
  • Diagnosing, repairing and testing electrical faults
  • Installing and commissioning new or upgraded systems
  • Completing service reports and ensuring all work meets current safety regulations
  • Working both independently and alongside colleagues on larger installations
Who We're Looking For

This role would suit someone from a site-based, manufacturing, or maintenance background — someone practical, reliable, and confident working with electrical systems in real-world environments. You might currently be a Maintenance Electrician, Industrial Electrician, Service Engineer, or Electrical Technician looking to join a company that values hands‑on expertise and rewards commitment.

Skills & Experience
  • Recognised Electrical Apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
  • HNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering
  • Some post‑apprenticeship experience
  • Strong knowledge of electrical fault‑finding, testing, and installation
  • Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable (but not essential)
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
  • Inspection & Testing certification
  • ECS or CSCS card
  • Basic mechanical awareness for fault isolation and repairs
