Job summary

Bristol City Council is seeking an Electrical Quality Control Engineer for the Voids team. The role focuses on quality control, compliance monitoring of electrical work, and certification processes for in-house and contractor work.

It offers hybrid working between office and site, with leadership over apprentices and subcontractors. You will ensure adherence to BS 7671, Building Regulations, and NICEIC requirements, and act as the main point of contact for audits and registrations.

Qualifications

• Experience with quality control and compliance monitoring of electrical works.
• Ability to communicate technically and to interpret drawings and instructions.
• Strong knowledge of wiring regulations and inspection/testing processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead monitoring and auditing of internal and contractor electrical works.
• Verify certificates and inspection reports to NICEIC standards.
• Supervise apprentices, electricians and subcontractors on site.
• Maintain knowledge of BS 7671 and Building Regulations.
• Coordinate site inspections and ensure corrective actions before handover.
• Liaise with NICEIC and maintain the company’s registration.
