Overview

We are recruiting an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join a Tier 1 main contractor delivering a world-class data centre project in Essex. This is a permanent position offering a unique opportunity to manage the full electrical scope on one of the most advanced, mission‑critical data centres ever constructed, purpose‑built to host the world's fastest supercomputer. You'll oversee all aspects of electrical project delivery — from design coordination and installation through to testing, commissioning, and client handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical works package on a high‑performance, hyperscale data centre project.
• Manage LV and MV distribution systems, UPS, generators, lighting, containment, and power infrastructure.
• Coordinate with mechanical, structural, and controls teams to ensure seamless MEP integration.
• Oversee and manage subcontractors, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
• Drive project progress against programme, cost, and quality targets.
• Conduct design and technical coordination meetings with consultants, suppliers, and clients.
• Support testing, commissioning, and validation of all electrical systems to meet mission‑critical standards.
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, supervisors, and site personnel.
• Provide accurate progress reports and forecasts to senior management and the Project Director.

Candidate Requirements

• Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering
• Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager, ideally with a Tier 1 main contractor.
• Strong track record delivering data centre, mission‑critical, or high‑tech industrial projects.
• Excellent knowledge of power distribution, UPS, LV/MV systems, and electrical infrastructure.
• Familiarity with commissioning processes, QA/QC standards, and data centre resilience requirements.
• Strong leadership, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
• Able to thrive in a fast‑paced, technically complex environment.
