Electrical Project Engineer - Environment – Location: Rotherham

An exciting opportunity has become available for an Electrical Project Engineer to join our expanding team at Galliford Try based in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. You’ll be working within our Environment Business supporting the delivery of a wide range of water industry projects covering both wastewater and clean water treatment schemes as part of our Yorkshire Water Frameworks. Ideally you’ll be located in or near the Rotherham area and willing to travel to various sites and projects across the region.

What you will be doing

Working on our Yorkshire Water Infrastructure Framework you will work closely with the design and site teams ensuring work is completed to programme, budget and quality.

  • Outline engineering needs from inception to completion of projects utilising in-house resources, external consultants, site installation and managing construction personnel.
  • Work closely with the design team to gather required information and participate in regular internal and external design reviews and Hazard Studies to develop solutions.
  • Liaise with the site manager and site teams to ensure work is completed to programme, budget and quality.
  • Participate in early site investigation works in coordination with the client, design and project team.
  • Produce and review health and safety documentation, taking a proactive approach to maintaining high standards of health and safety performance.
  • Be involved in the procurement of materials and preparation of subcontract orders.
  • Work with the team to develop and close out all contract documentation such as As built drawings, Commissioning Manuals and Operation and Maintenance Manuals.
About you
  • Have an industry applicable electrical ONC/HNC/ B Eng or NVQ equivalent.
  • Have experience with ICA.
  • Proven experience working within the water industry.
  • Excellent communication skills with proven influencing and negotiation skills to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Desire to understand and promote the company purpose, vision, values and culture.
