Job summary

RGB Recruitment seeks an Electrical Project Engineer in Plymouth for a full-time, permanent role with a salary of £45,000–£55,000 plus a comprehensive benefits package. You will oversee refurbishment, infrastructure and building services works, coordinating electrical planning and delivery from inception to completion.

You will work closely with operational teams and clients, managing multiple electrical packages and ensuring safe, on-time delivery across various projects.

Qualifications

  • Electrical NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • Experience in electrical installation, maintenance or infrastructure projects.
  • Minimum SSSTS certification.
  • CSCS Card First Aid at work.
  • Strong understanding of LV distribution, lighting and refurbishment works.
  • Experience leading site teams or supervising electrical operatives.
  • Good IT skills and familiarity with project management and reporting systems.
  • Excellent planning, communication and organisational abilities.
  • Security Clearance eligibility or current clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate electrical projects from award through to completion.

  • Allocate labour resources and produce work schedules and programmes.
  • Prepare RAMS, quality plans and project documentation.
  • Monitor project progress, quality and compliance.
  • Coordinate materials, plant and subcontractors.
  • Support client meetings and maintain stakeholder relationships.
  • Ensure all works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.
  • Assist with project reporting, forecasting and programme updates.
  • Support commissioning, handover and project close-out activities.

The position suits an experienced Electrical Supervisor progressing into project engineering or an existing Project Engineer seeking greater responsibility. Electrical Project Engineer Plymouth | £45,000 - £55,000 + Package

An established M&E contractor is looking to recruit an Electrical Project Engineer to support an increasing workload across a secure and technically challenging environment in Plymouth. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Supervisor looking to take the next step into project engineering, or an existing Project Engineer seeking greater responsibility and career progression. Working on a variety of refurbishment, infrastructure and building services projects, you will play a key role in the planning, coordination and delivery of electrical works from inception through to completion.

The Role

Working closely with operational teams and clients, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day delivery of multiple electrical packages, ranging from small works through to medium-sized contracts.

  • Planning and coordinating electrical projects from award through to completion.

  • Allocating labour resources and producing work schedules and programmes.
  • Preparing RAMS, quality plans and project documentation.
  • Monitoring project progress, quality and compliance.

About You

We are looking for a motivated and organised electrical professional with strong technical knowledge and a proactive approach to project delivery. You will ideally possess:

  • Electrical NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • Previous experience within electrical installation, maintenance or infrastructure projects.
  • Minimum SSSTS certification.
  • CSCS Card First Aid at work
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems including LV distribution, lighting and refurbishment works.
  • Experience leading site teams or supervising electrical operatives.
  • Good IT skills and confidence using project management and reporting systems.
  • Excellent planning, communication and organisational abilities.
  • Test & Inspection (2391 or equivalent) would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Due to the nature of the work, candidates must either hold current Security Clearance or be eligible to obtain clearance.
