Job summary

A leading Tier 1 contractor is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join their team in the UK. This long-term contract role requires oversight of electrical engineering aspects in clean and wastewater projects. Candidates should have experience in the water industry, a strong understanding of electrical systems, and relevant qualifications. The role offers a competitive rate of £550 per day with potential for extension.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Electrical Project Engineer within the water industry or similar infrastructure sector.
• Strong understanding of LV electrical systems, MCCs, ICA, and pump station controls.
• Experience with AMP frameworks is highly desirable.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations is desirable.
• ECS or CSCS card is preferred.

• Review and interpret electrical designs, ensuring compliance with specifications and water industry standards.
• Support the coordination between design, construction, and commissioning teams.

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on all electrical works.
• Conduct site inspections and support commissioning and handover processes.

This is a long-term contract role, ideal for an engineer with a strong electrical background in water, utilities, or infrastructure sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee electrical engineering aspects of clean and wastewater projects from design through to commissioning.
• Review and interpret electrical designs, ensuring compliance with specifications and water industry standards.
• Support the coordination between design, construction, and commissioning teams.
• Manage subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of electrical components and installations.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on all electrical works.
• Conduct site inspections and support commissioning and handover processes.

Requirements

• Previous experience as an Electrical Project Engineer within the water industry or similar infrastructure sector.
• Strong understanding of LV electrical systems, MCCs, ICA, and pump station controls.
• Qualified to a minimum of HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Experience with AMP frameworks - highly desirable.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations - desirable.
• ECS or CSCS card - preferred.
• Strong project coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Rate: £550 per day (CIS)
