Job description

Job Title: Operations Manager (Electrical)

We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager with a solid background in the electrical trade. You will be responsible for leading teams, managing multiple projects, and overseeing all operational activities within the electrical division. This role requires strong technical knowledge, proven estimating experience, and the ability to deliver projects safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Key responsibilities include managing day-to-day electrical operations, coordinating engineers and subcontractors, planning labour and materials, and ensuring all work complies with BS 7671 and industry regulations. You will oversee project delivery from mobilisation to completion, prepare schedules, RAMS, and reports, conduct site visits, manage budgets and risks, and maintain strong communication with clients. The role also involves preparing accurate electrical estimates, quotations, and tenders, reviewing technical drawings, supporting commercial discussions, and tracking financial performance.

We are seeking someone with extensive experience in the electrical trade, ideally progressing from electrician to supervisor or manager. Strong knowledge of electrical installations, testing, and commissioning is essential, along with experience in estimating and project management. Candidates should have excellent leadership, organisation, and communication skills, with the ability to solve problems and interpret technical documentation.

Essential qualifications include NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation and 18th Edition (BS 7671). Testing and inspection qualifications such as 2391, as well as SMSTS, SSSTS, and ECS/CSCS, are desirable. Additional engineering or management qualifications such as HNC or HND are an advantage.

We offer a competitive salary, opportunities for development and progression, and a supportive environment within a growing organisation.
