Role details
  • World Class Defence Organisation based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire is currently looking to recruit 2x Electrical Manufacturing Technician subcontractors on an initial 12 month contract.
  • Job Title: Electrical Manufacturing Technician
  • Rate: £29.57 per hour
  • Overtime Rate: Hours worked over 37 hours per week will be calculated at “time and a quarter”
  • Location: Stevenage
  • Hybrid / Remote working: Onsite
  • Contract: 37 Hours per week
  • Duration: 12 Months (initially and then ongoing and long-term thereafter)
  • IR35 status: Inside IR35 (Umbrella)
Responsibilities
  • As a qualified craftsman with several years of relevant experience in electrical manufacturing, report to a Team Leader and perform tasks including Assembly, Inspection and Test, with priorities set by the Team Leader.
  • Certify the product in line with the product certification procedure and maintain certification and approvals via regular audits.
  • Utilise a versatile skill base to apply skills across a range of tasks using equipment, tools, gauges and measuring instruments for production, repair and modification to meet build standards and specifications.
  • Be fully conversant with all equipment, tools and measuring instruments in the manufacturing cycle; ensure build, inspection and test times are met; complete all paperwork associated with the manufacturing data pack.
  • Maintain high workmanship standards and product quality; ensure compliance with procedures; maintain a safe working environment and good housekeeping; share best practices with the team.
Qualifications
  • Team player with customer focus; proven planning and organising skills; flexible and adaptable.
  • Formal technical engineering/craft apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3 / TR23 / TR21 / HNC.
  • Experience as a skilled person; ESD training; Colophony health surveillance (where applicable).
