Job summary

A leading manufacturing company based in North Wales is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to maintain and improve their production facility. In this full-time role, you'll carry out preventative maintenance, respond to breakdowns, and ensure machinery reliability within a skilled engineering team. The ideal candidate will have relevant qualifications and experience with PPM systems and electrical installations. Overtime opportunities available.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a process or production environment, especially packaging machinery.
  • Strong fault-finding skills and the ability to diagnose electrical issues.
  • Hands-on experience with both electrical and mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities.
  • Diagnose faults and respond to breakdowns promptly.
  • Conduct repairs and servicing on electrical and mechanical equipment.

Electrical Maintenance Technician North Wales
£20.13 per hour + Overtime Opportunities
Full-Time Permanent Shift-Based Role

We are currently recruiting an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician on behalf of a long-established, market-leading manufacturing company based in North Wales. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organisation with a strong reputation and a high-performing engineering team.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving a fast-paced production facility. This is a hands‑on role within a small, skilled engineering team, focused on ensuring machinery reliability and minimising downtime.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns and diagnose faults effectively
  • Conduct repairs, servicing, and overhauls on a range of electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Assist with continuous improvement projects and installation of new equipment
  • Work closely with production teams to ensure safe and efficient operations
Candidate Requirements
  • Previous experience within a process or production environment (packaging machinery experience desirable)
  • Strong understanding of PPM systems
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification
  • HNC or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Experience with industrial electrical installations
  • Excellent fault‑finding and diagnostic skills
Working Hours & Shifts

Monday to Friday, with flexibility for overtime and occasional weekend work.

Winter Shifts (September March):

  • Week 1: 07:00 (Mon - Thu)
  • Week 2: 07:30 (Mon - Thu) + 07:00 (Fri)

Summer Shifts (April August):

  • Week 1: 07:30 (Mon - Thu) + 07:00 (Fri)
  • Week 2: 07:00 (Mon - Thu)
