Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Cramlington

Hours: 39 hours per week (Days)

Additional: Enhanced rate available for shift work

About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a leading oilfield equipment supplier. This hands-on role involves inspecting, servicing, and repairing electrical and where appropriate, basic mechanical systems across a busy manufacturing facility. You’ll ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Service, repair and maintain all electrical and mechanical plant equipment and facility systems
  • Diagnose faults using technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic software
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to minimise downtime and improve reliability
  • Identify and advise management of potential equipment or plant issues
  • Support and cross-train other maintenance team members, providing guidance to junior operatives
  • Maintain accurate departmental records and contribute to reliability improvement projects
  • Source required components and external services where necessary
  • Produce technical documentation, including risk assessments, LOTO procedures, and maintenance reports
Quality & Compliance
  • Work in line with ISO 9001 and API Q1 quality standards
  • Ensure all works are properly recorded, traceable, and compliant
  • Perform inspection and testing to IEE 18th Edition Regulations, BS 2391, or equivalent standards
  • Be CompEx certified (or willing to complete CompEx training and certification)
Health & Safety
  • Comply with all site and company Health & Safety procedures
  • Identify and resolve potential HSE issues relating to electrical systems
  • Always wear appropriate PPE and follow safe systems of work
What We’re Looking For
  • Time-served Electrical Maintenance Engineer or equivalent qualification
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Experience maintaining plant and equipment within an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Sound understanding of electrical safety, testing, and inspection standards
  • A proactive, team-oriented approach with strong attention to detail
